This book contains an unique collection of truly delightful circular-format fish-eye images from around the world. It also represents a major development in photographic practice because of its consistent attention to symmetry and aesthetics, in spite of the inevitable distortion effects and the sheer diversity of subjects covered. From skyscrapers to virgin steppe, Siberian winters to Saharan summers, Pacific NW treescapes to Outback skyscapes, the Colosseum to the Great Wall and, of course, very much more besides.
The author acquired his first fish-eye lens in 1997 and admits that he has taken relatively few non-fish-eye photographs since. An astrophotometrist by training, terrestrial photography has long been one of his sideline occupations. His previous picture book, Life at Oxford, was also published by Wolfbane.
