Application to attend the Summer School can be made via our online registration form.
Application before 7 June 2022 is strongly advised as the number of participants is limited.
The organising committee will select participants on the basis of their applications. Participants are expected to attend the full 12 days of the School and in person.
All participants of the Summer School are asked to prepare a poster and a short talk (of 10 minutes) on their research for the School.
In the application, applicants are asked to provide the following:
1. Title of your poster and short talkApplicants with only a few years’ research experience should also provide the name of one referee, who is a senior scientist active in the research fields relevant to the Summer School and able to provide a letter of reference, if requested.
2. Short abstract
Successful applicants will be notified as soon as possible after their application is received and by 7 June 2022. Applicants requesting financial support will be notified of the awards by 14 June 2022.
Cost of Participation
The fee for the summer school covering
the full board and accommodation per participant for the 12 days is £1,085·50
(GBP). This includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. The fee for the summer
school covering tuition fee, board and accommodation costs per participant
for the 12 days is £1,732·75 (GBP).

The price for accompanying persons for full board and accommodation for 12 days is £1,085·50 (GBP). Discounted prices for accompanying persons needing only accommodation or bed and breakfast are also available upon request.
Scholarships
UK STFC-sponsored PhD students attend the school free of charge sponsored by STFC. They can also claim travel and subsistence expenses from STFC after the School is completed. The form can be obtained from the CELTA School organisers and must be physically signed, scanned and returned directly to UKRI along with scanned receipts.
For UK non-STFC PhD students and non-UK PhD students, we also have a limited number of scholarships sponsored by SUSSP and SUPA, which could support the full accommodation costs (£1,085·50 (GBP)) or 50% of these costs (£542·75 (GBP)), with the tuition fee given free. These will be awarded to PhD students who are not able to get the funding from their sponsoring institutions and will be awarded on their merit and financial need. A case for financial support can be made in the application. Applicants requesting financial support should apply for the School before 7 June 2022. They will be notified of the scholarship awards by 14 June 2022.
Family and Accompanying Persons
Family and accompanying persons are welcome. They may join the participants for breakfast/lunch/dinner plus accommodation or just for the accommodation and social activities. There are a small number of twin and family rooms available at both Inverness College and Sabhal Mòr Ostaig.

Discounted prices for accompanying persons needing only shared accommodation
or bed and breakfast are also available upon request.
